Vision

Get Marcus Draney earning independent income via DoorDash. Two parallel blockers to clear: birth certificate → driver's license → DoorDash signup (identity track), and LLC → car insurance → car registration (vehicle track). Once both tracks complete, Marcus is legally on the road and background-checked for delivery work.

User Stories

  • US-1: As Marcus, I need a valid Utah driver's license so I can legally drive and DoorDash. Requires birth certificate from PA Vital Records first.
  • US-2: As Marcus, I need car insurance on the 2013 Chevy Cruze (VIN: 1G1PC5SB0D7156952) so I can drive it legally. Progressive partial payment of $79.79 made 2026-04-06 — policy binding status to verify.
  • US-3: As Marcus, I need the Chevy Cruze registered at Utah DMV so it is road-legal. Depends on insurance + title + emissions test.
  • US-4: As Marcus, I need to pass DoorDash background check and onboarding so I can start earning.
  • US-5: As Marcus, I need kanban + project management training so I can grow as a co-operator of our businesses.

Architecture

Two parallel tracks. Identity and vehicle are independent until they converge at DoorDash signup.

TRACK A: IDENTITY (unblocks Marcus legally driving)
─────────────────────────────────────────────────
Birth Cert ($30, PA Vital Records) ──> Utah Driver's License ($23)
        (done — westside-accounting#3) │
                                                            ↓
                                                    DoorDash signup
                                                    (3-7 day background check)

TRACK B: VEHICLE (unblocks the Chevy Cruze being legal)
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────
LLC (Pal Enterprises — westside-accounting) ──> Car Insurance ──> Car Registration
         └── cross-project dependency (marcus-personal#1) (marcus-personal#2)
                                                                                  │
                                                                                  ↓
                                                                          DoorDash signup
                                                                          (vehicle verified)

CONVERGENCE: Both tracks complete → Marcus DoorDashing → income flowing

Chain of Events (Why We're Here)

  1. Marcus has a working 2013 Chevy Cruze (VIN: 1G1PC5SB0D7156952) but can't drive it legally.
  2. Marcus needs a driver's license — originally blocked on birth certificate from PA Vital Records (ordered, confirm receipt).
  3. Chevy Cruze needs insurance + registration — blocked on LLC formation (Pal Enterprises, tracked in westside-accounting).
  4. DoorDash signup requires both a valid license AND a registered insured vehicle. Background check takes 3-7 days after signup.

Fee Map

Utah Driver's License $23 Blocked by birth cert receipt
Emissions Test ~$30 Pending
Car Insurance (Progressive) ~$80-150/mo Partial ($79.79 paid 2026-04-06) — verify policy (marcus-personal#1)
Car Registration ~$100-120 Pending — depends on insurance + title + emissions (marcus-personal#2)
Total estimated ~$260+ one-time plus monthly insurance

Milestones

  • M1: Birth certificate received → Marcus has Utah driver's license
  • M2: Car insurance verified and active
  • M3: Car registered at Utah DMV
  • M4: Marcus DoorDash-onboarded and background-check passed
  • M5: Marcus actively DoorDashing — income flowing

Status

Cross-project blocker: LLC entity for car insurance/registration depends on Pal Enterprises LLC (tracked in project-westside-accounting). Marcus's insurance/registration cannot complete until Pal Enterprises is filed and has an EIN.

Repos

  • forgejo_admin/marcus-personal — issue tracker for identity + vehicle work

Stakeholders

  • Marcus — the subject. Actively learning kanban + project management as part of US-5.
  • Lucas — orchestrating, funding fees from Stripe payouts until Marcus's income starts flowing.
  • Mom — hosting Lucas and Marcus in Lehi; needs visibility into progress and timeline.
  • westside-accounting — upstream dependency for US-2 (car insurance requires LLC = Pal Enterprises)
